Because the beaver isn't just an animal; it's an ecosystem!

November 2013

November 24th – 5:00am – When one beaver watcher was on his way to the dam sites, he found 4 deer outside his house. Down at the secondary dam site, one kit came up from below the secondary and went into the brambles on the left below the dam and was noisily munching! A great blue heron was also seen hunting below the primary dam. JR

November 13th – 4:45pm -With the nights getting darker sooner, it seems like the beavers are coming out sooner. All three kits, Jr. and mom were seen at the secondary dam.HP, JR

November 8th – 5:00pm – 6:00pm -Another high tide. One kit was seen whining to Mom and then they both went over the secondary dam. A green heron was seen also at the dam site.HP, JR

November 3rd – 4:30pm – 5:30pm – Our beaver watchers wanted to see if the beavers had adjusted to Day Light Savings Time. They were able to see the three kits and Jr., while down at the secondary dam. One green heron was seen and also a snowy egret, sitting on the Marina Vista bridge rail.HP, JR
