September-2011

September 27th – 5:00AM – Two busy beavers were seen working on the primary dam.JR

September 25th – No beaver sightings this morning but a green heron was seen catching a frog for its breakfast.MS

September 24th – Dad beaver was seen coming home around 11:00 AM and he has some beaver watchers wondering why he was so late returning as most beavers are seen returning to their bank holes early in the morning.MS

September 21st – 5:30AM – It was reported that one beaver was seen before 5:30. Another beaver was seen  on the bank near the sheet pile before plopping into the water.    A new tree was down in the annex area and there was new willow on the primary dam. Besides the two beavers, two muskrats and five baby raccoons in a scrambling pile were seen during the morning visit.HP

September 15th- 5:45 One beaver over the secondary dam and upstream over primary. 6:15 second beaver over secondary dam and on up to primary. Green heron, mother and baby raccoon. Recent full moon. HP

September 10th – Early morning – Two beavers were seen this morning busy working on the secondary dam. I guess they still think it needs some more work even though I thought it looked pretty good.HP

September 9th – Early morning – Lots of activity this morning down by the dam sites. One beaver was seen up towards the annex, which we call an area between Escobar Street and Main. A very busy beaver was seen doing major mudding on the secondary dam and the dam is looking real good. One muskrat along with three green herons were also seen plus mom duck was out again with her three ducklings. HP

September 6th – 6:30-7:30AM – No beaver sighting this morning but did see one turtle. Also seen was a mom duck and her three ducklings crossing over the dam.HP

September 1,st – 5:00AM – Two night herons were seen this morning. One was seen at the primary dam and one was seen at the secondary dam. No beavers sighted.JR
