Beavers are nocturnal so your best chance at seeing them will be between dusk and dawn. In the summer when the days are longer we have a better chance of seeing them when it’s still light. Some biologists think beavers weren’t always nocturnal, and that before they were hunted for 400 years they used to enjoy being outside in the day time. Sometimes you will still see beavers in the daylight where they have a great deal of space or work to do.
