Your tax deductible Donations to “Worth A Dam” will help maintain the Martinez Beavers in Alhambra Creek. All donations are conducted securely at Paypal, and will help with the following initial projects.

• Willow Replacement: Ultimately the beavers behavior of “coppicing trees” will encourage bushy dense growth, but in the meantime food sources can be augmented by replanting trees along the bank. These can gradually replace other trees that have been wire-wrapped for protection.

• Interpretive Signs: Can explain beaver features and behavior , showing the lodge and dams. These can begin at the Amtrak station to encourage visitors, continue to the primary dam to explain the flow device, and finish at the lodge to draw attention to beaver behavior. A fourth sign on Main St. could draw additional interest. [See a sample Interpretive Sign here]

PLEASE NOTE: Worth A Dam was developed with the goal of keeping and maintaining the Martinez Beavers in Alhambra Creek through responsible stewardship, creative problem solving, community involvement and education. Should the council ultimately vote to relocate the beavers, any unused donations will be divided between Land for Urban Wildlife and Friends of Alhambra Creek, for use in habitat restoration and to encourage future beavers.

All donors will receive a letter for your records documenting your tax deductible gift to Land For Urban Wildlife, a qualifying 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
